Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) Training

Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) is the FOA certification for general fiber optics applications. CFOTs have a broad knowledge in fiber optics that can be applied to almost any application — outside plant, premises, manufacturing, etc. FOA CFOT certification is based on an extensive knowledge of fiber optics technology and application as well as demonstrated skills in appropriate tasks.

This intense fiber optic training course is a must for anyone interested in becoming a Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT). Combining fiber theory with hands-on exercise activities, it thoroughly prepares you to take the CFOT exam on the last day of training. Learn how to identify fiber types; recognize connectors used in fiber installation; and install, terminate, splice, and properly test fiber cable to existing standards. Perform basic testing and troubleshooting. As an added bonus, this informative course examines the history of fiber optics and its future capabilities. Become a Certified Fiber Optic Technician by passing the required written and hands-on exams in this course. Then embark on an exciting and gratifying career. Text book, study material, Fiber Optic Association application, and testing fees are included in tuition. Seating is limited to 6 participants.
